Can I Be Involved in Maintenance Decisions?
Of course! After all, it’s your property. Once you become a client, we will agree to set a maintenance limit for your property, and any non-urgent maintenance expected to exceed that limit will be communicated with you BEFORE taking place. For certain maintenance tasks, like cosmetic or other non-essential requests from tenants, we’ll communicate that with you regardless of the expected cost, if that’s what’s desired. It’s just good practice!
Another option is to make you the primary maintenance contact so you can take care of any and all maintenance yourself. Then you can loop us in when you need us. With this arrangement, we continue to be your management agent for rent collection, tenant contact, lease enforcement, accounting, etc. Most property owners choose to have us handle maintenance requests on their behalf, however, we’re fully capable of working with “Handyman Landlords” who want to roll up their sleeves on maintenance.
